About us at Farsund Aluminium Casting AS

Founded in 1996 under Alcoa ownership the primary purpose of FAC was to service Volvo with hollow core subframes.
Since then FAC has grown in its intellectual capability and manufacturing capacity to its current position as a global provider
of highly complex hollow and solid, light weight aluminium castings. Benteler Automotive has taken over FAC effective as of September 2012.

South Of Norway

Based in the very south of Norway, FAC has twice been nominated as casting company of the year, once in 2004 and again in 2010.

A quarter of a million tons

Since its launch FAC has produced more than 3 million car sets of steering knuckles and more than 20 million castings in total. We have the capacity to produce around 3 million castings each year. FAC has consumed around a quarter of a million tons of high grade aluminium, all of it supplied in liquid form at 750 C directly from Alcoa's alloying furnace which is less than 200m from our factory gate.

Casting of the Year Award

As two times nominee for the Casting of the Year Award, we are fortunate to benefit from world class Norwegian know-how in low pressure die casting (LPDC).

We overcome casting design complexity so that our cutting edge lean automated operation can cast and machine efficiently. The result is that we offer our customers premium quality and complex light weight designed castings in high volumes and at low prices.
